Shandong Vocational College of Light Industry is a full-time comprehensive higher vocational college sponsored by the Zibo Municipal People’s Government. Founded in 1960, the college originated from Shandong Silk Industry School, was upgraded to Shandong Silk Textile Vocational College in 2006, renamed to Shandong Vocational College of Light Industry in 2014, established Zibo Open University in 2023, and was approved as a high-level higher vocational college of Shandong Province in 2025. The college comprises 9 secondary departments/schools, including the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Information Engineering, Department of Art and Design, and International Fashion College, offering 35 higher vocational majors such as Artificial Intelligence Technology Application, Garment Design and Craftsmanship, and Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment Technology, among which 5 are pilot programs for a “junior college to bachelor’s degree” pathway. The college has 13,000 enrolled students.

The college is a National Textile and Apparel Talent Training Base, one of the initiating units of three national industry-education integration communities (National Silk, National Communication Network, and National Digital Commerce), the leading unit of the National Communication and Network Vocational Education Group, a Shandong Province New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion Public Training Base for Intelligent Information and Communication (ICT), and a pilot unit of Shandong Province Cross-border E-commerce Incubation Institution. It has received numerous honors, including Advanced Institution for Industry-Education Integration in China’s Textile Industry, National Demonstration Unit for Economical Public Institutions, Shandong Province Advanced Vocational Education Unit, Shandong Province Civilized Campus, Shandong Province Model School for School-Enterprise Cooperation, Shandong Province Education Informatization Model Unit, Shandong Province Advanced Collective for Graduate Employment of Vocational Colleges, Shandong Province Green School, and Shandong Province Smart Education Demonstration School.

Adhering to an open education philosophy, the college actively builds a broad and multi-level platform for international exchange and cooperation, establishing friendly cooperative relationships with 30 universities from 14 countries and regions, including Russia, Italy, Japan, and France. The college has set up 5 overseas talent training bases, a Cambodia-Ban-Mo College (Luthai Group), and jointly runs Sino-foreign cooperative education programs and “junior college to bachelor’s degree” articulation projects with universities in Russia, Japan, and South Korea. The college funds outstanding students for exchange studies at overseas universities annually, recruits outstanding international students to study in China, and strives to create a new model for internationalizing higher vocational education.

1.Non-Chinese citizens from “Belt and Road” countries holding a valid foreign ordinary passport.

2.Hold a high school diploma or equivalent qualification (recognized as equivalent to Chinese high school graduation), with excellent academic records, good physical and mental health, aged between 18 and 30 years.

3.Ability to study and communicate in English.

4.Interest in learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture, society, and economy.

5.Ability to live and study independently, with good self-discipline and interpersonal skills.

6.Sufficient family financial capability to support living, transportation, and other expenses beyond the scholarship during the study period.

New students must register on time according to the date specified in the Admission Notice and bring the Admission Notice and JW202 form. Failure to register for more than two weeks without justifiable cause will be considered automatic forfeiture of admission. Upon enrollment, the college will organize a physical examination. Only those with satisfactory results will officially obtain admission qualifications.

2.Send application materials to the International Cooperation and Exchange Center email: sdlivcguojiaochu@126.com;

3.The International Cooperation and Exchange Center reviews all application materials and determines the shortlist of admitted candidates;

4.Send a scanned copy of the “Pre-admission Notice”;

5.Pay tuition fees, accommodation fees, and other related fees;

6.After approval by higher authorities, issue the official “Admission Notice” and “Visa Application for Study in China” (JW202 form) to the applicant;

7.The applicant applies for a study visa (X1 Visa) for China at the Chinese embassy or consulate abroad using the ordinary passport, “Admission Notice”, “Foreigner Physical Examination Form”, and “Visa Application for Study in China” (JW202 form);

8.The applicant reports to the college within the time specified in the “Admission Notice”;

9.Upon registration, the applicant’s application and admission documents will be re-verified;

10.Undergo a medical examination；

11.Applicants will undergo an evaluation of their language proficiency and learning ability;

12.Academic registration.
